My name is Denise Dempsey Kane. I am oldest of six children of Kathleen and Marty Dempsey. I am a graduate of Moore Collge of Art and I attended Villanova University. I have been married to John E. Kane, a stockbroker, for twenty one years. Prior to the birth of our children, I taught art and worked in accounting. Our daughter Delia,18, is a nursing major at Gwynedd Mercy College. I am homeschooling our son, Jack,16, who has a seizure disorder and is mentally retarded. Our youngest daughter, Rosemary,14, is non verbal and has been diagnozed as severely autistic, she attends a local school.
In the past five years, I have returned to my artwork after a twenty year hiatus. I have exhibited in the Phillipp's Mill Show, Artists' Museum, Woodmere Museum, Perkiomen Valley, Greater Norristown and Conshocken Art Leagues,as well as The Notre Dame Academy, and Daylesford Abbey art shows. I have won the Rose Beloff award at the GNAL and the 2005 First Prize at the Conshohocken Art League.
I consider my talent one of the many gifts God has given our family. Our daily life and family trips inspire my work. Delia and Jack ride and show their horses, Spunky and Chester. We have recently moved to a horse farm. The rural beauty of the area is the impetus for my landscapes and florals. I have spent many summers in Sea Isle City,N.J. with family and friends. The beach and countless happy memories inspire my seascapes....
